Camping Trips planned for 2010

News and HappeningsPosted by Thames Kayaking Tue, July 06, 2010 21:08:32

Hallo Everybody.

We have been very remiss with our news this year and we are already well into this season. Have the sun and long hot days not been wonderful.

We are still doing our full day trips which are as popular as ever and the 2hr trips are becoming just as popular. The latest addition to the Thames Kayaking family is now the camping trips.

Our first camping trip is set for the 15th to 16th of July. Booking are taken on the first come basis as we only take 10 people per trip. The first 10 people to book and pay the deposit will each receive a Single Use Camera, to record their trip.

We will start at Marsh Lock and paddle through Henley and camp in Hurley on a Thames Island; we will have a full traditional South African Braai (BBQ) in the evening. The following day we finish at Bourne End after a midday drink at the local.

The total cost of this trip is £145, 00/person sharing and £ 155.00/person not sharing. Children sharing a kayak with an adult will be charged at half price.

Look forward to seeing you on our camping trip.

Dave & Carolyn.

End of Season

News and HappeningsPosted by Thames Kayaking Tue, October 13, 2009 18:47:18

Hallo All.

After a lovely summer and with autumn drawing in, we will be closing for the season at the end of October and re-opening for next summer on April, 1st 2010. We have lots of new trips planned for next season with our old favourites still being run as well. We are looking at different sections of the river for our day trips and a variety of 2hr trips as well.

Our long awaited camping trips will also be up and running from April 2010, where we will be camping on a Thames island and each group will be limited to 10 people. All the equipment is included in the price, all you will need to bring are your own clothes, toiletries and a towel. The kayaks, lifejackets, guide, all meals, tents and sleeping bags are supplied.

We are now also tweeting on Twitter, follow us on www.twitter.com/thameskayaking or become a fan on Facebook here: www.facebook.com/pages/thames-Kayaking/202629010444 and on You Tube we have a video as well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZoNsJ-EQ9U

We have been very fortunate to have had a lot of support from various people and are members of Visit London as well as South East Tourism, Time Out and Surrey Herald wrote fantastic articles about us and an article was submitted to SAPromo by Christian (many thanks for the write up). We have also had a recommendation add to the Israel Travel Website: http://www.lametayel.co.il/שייט+קיאקים+בתמזה+לונדון

Personally we have a busy winter planned and included in this we have entered the Thailand competition and encourage everyone to follow our progress on www.ultimatethailandexperience.com - Pattaya. If we get chosen to go through to the next round we will need your votes!

We hope everyone has a warm winter and look forward to seeing everyone back on the Thames next season.

Please keep in touch and have a good Christmas and New Year.

All the best

Longer, Warmer Days.

News and HappeningsPosted by Thames Kayaking Tue, March 24, 2009 10:38:40

Welcome back spring.

So good to see the longer days, the sun and the Thames comming back to life. So many people out enjoying walking along the banks of the river as well as a lot more crafts on the river itself.

The bookings are increasing and we are meeting lots of new people. You need to get down to booking your trip as we are filling up days fast.

Please remember to bring sunscreen as your skin burns quickly on the water. A hat and sunglasses are also a help. Extra clothes and towels can be left in the van in case you get wet.

I hope to get the picture gallery up and running next week.

See you on the river soon.
